Holiday Date Ideas

Holiday Date Ideas

I am the connoisseur of finding cute date ideas to do either with your bf/gf or even with your best girl friends. Over the years I have done a ton of festive activities that have always made for a memorable season. I have narrowed down a few of my favorite date ideas that I think collectively will be enjoyed by everyone. Nothing is better than chilly nights, hot drinks, and magical moments during the holidays!

Take a drive up to the Griffith Observatory

Bundle up in a cozy sweaterr and knee high socks, grab a hot chocolate for the ride and don’t forget the binoculars for a magical night under the stars. The Griffith Observatory is an elegant and beautiful monument that is placed on top of the Hollywood Hills. Not only will you get a stellar view of the Los Angeles skyline, but it can also be a time to brush up on your constellations. Because let’s face it, it would be nice to recognize a constellation other than the Big Dipper… I think this is a perfect date night choice during the holidays because it’s the perfect excuse to pull that “hey you look cold” arm over the shoulder move or a romantic way to snag a first kiss.

Take a stroll at the LA Zoo Festival of Lights

This is a really sweet kind of date or family outing for the holidays. The LA Zoo brings the holidays to life at night with twinkling light displays all around the park. Glistening trees, colorful light canopies, and even some reindeer are a few details that make the LA Zoo Festival of Lights a really cozy and enjoyable way to spend quality time together.

Window shop & dine at the Grove

Total cliché LA outing, but there is something so pretty about the Grove that makes the no parking, traffic, and packed walk ways worth it. They have the most gorgeous Christmas decorations that can’t help but get you into the holiday spirit. Also, sometimes its fun to window shop and discuss what you guys want (but then saw what you wanted was $500 and kept walking).

Glide into the Pershing Square Ice Skating Rink

Ice skating has always been a holiday must do. Doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to ice skate well because falling & looking like a fool is half the fun. Pershing Square is in the heart of LA and makes you feel as if you are having  a “New York moment” with all the tall surrounding buildings and lights. Get dressed up, buy a few butt and knee pads, and have an enchanting and hilarious evening with your babe or your best gal pals.

Attend a Kings Game

Okay, so sometimes romantic nights aren’t the only way to have some holiday fun. What better way to enjoy a night then watching some hot guys fight while skating. I’m kidding.. slightly. But, besides that a thrilling activity like going to a sports game together is a great bonding experience and a guaranteed way to have some laughs. It may not be a hot coco and lovey dovey kind of night, but who doesn’t like to change that up sometimes for some beer and raging chants and hollers!

Spend the morning gift wrapping and ornament shopping

During the holidays, gift wrapping and present shopping become tedious and consuming tasks that we always try to push to the last minute. This year you should shake up the normal routine and make activities like this more fun! Grab two glasses and fill them with mimosas, crank up the Christmas music and think of some cute creative ideas for presenting wrapping (see my Holiday Gift Wrapping blog here). Not only are you getting your holiday to-do list done, but you are also spending quality time together. Multi-tasking at its finest!

Also, you can make a cute tradition of finding an ornament together every year for your Christmas tree. Years ago my mom created this tradition for my family. My sisters and I each were given a beautiful ornament from my mom that was to be stored away until we each had our own Christmas tree. It makes the ornaments more special and sentimental. Here are a few personal ones of mine:
